Recognition of Benefactors
- Rossall has always been a distinctive school since its founding in 1844 – influencing the lives of thousands of young men and women, by providing them with a good, all-round education in an outstanding setting.
- Much of what we see today is the result of past benefactors. Old Rossallians have remained loyal to the School throughout its history and the special qualities that we appreciate and admire about Rossall invariably stem from the original ethos and values of the School. They remain unchanged today.
Throughout the School’s 164 year history there have been a number of generous benefactors who have provided all types of capital improvements, buildings and scholarships, helping shape Rossall as we know it today.
Austin Porritt established Porritt Hall and travel scholarships; William Lethbridge, a former master of Rossall built the Art Room and Eric Jackson gave the School the teaching block and scholarships. Old Rossallians George Swainson, Keith Newell and Leigh Trapnell endowed scholarships which continue today to help future generations of Rossallians.
The commitment of former pupils has helped the School expand and thrive in the 19th and 20th.centuries and now in the 21st century, the School must maintain that standard of commitment.
Your donations, regular life-time giving and bequests can help Rossall achieve this.
- The School will respect the wishes of those who wish their gifts to remain confidential, but for others we would like to acknowledge an individual’s generosity during their lifetime as in the past. Don’t forget there are naming opportunities.
- Please join us in our quest for further funds. Give the School confidence and stability.
