What will we do for you?
- Welcome you to Rossall whenever we can, and whenever you are able to visit. Rossall is remarkably accessible these days with efficient communications via the motorways, rail and local airports, free from some of the worst congestion in the south!
Visitors during term time (please pre-arrange your visit) will witness a happy and harmonious modern school, populated by confident and courteous pupils, captivated by that special Rossall atmosphere.
The Foundation and the Rossallian Club continue to operate during the school holidays, and so, by pre-arranged appointment, it will usually be possible to welcome and accompany you on a tour of the campus. Please let us know when you wish to visit!
- Keep you fully informed and up-to-date about our relationship networks, our fund-raising campaigns and about school life here at Rossall through the Foundation website and 'Foundation Matters' termly newsletter, as well as through the 'Rossallian Club News' (July and December) and the Rossallian Club website.
- Establish robust and proper systems of governance to manage the flow of funds into and out of the Foundation. Report openly and fully on the financial performance of the Foundation, opening the books annually to professional scrutiny.
- Acknowledge with grateful thanks and appropriate recognition your most valued and appreciated donations. Steward wisely any monies which we may receive, and offer the absolute assurance that all gifts received will be accounted for and applied solely for the purpose for which they have been specified.
- Offer naming opportunities to benefactors who wish to name a building or part of a building for lasting philanthropic recognition.
Named benefactions emphasise the continuity across the generations associated with Rossall and inform present pupils of their shared heritage with past alumni. Bursary and scholarship provision will feature ever more prominently as Rossall seeks to comply with the Charities Act 2006. All such naming opportunities become possible through the Foundation with the agreement of The School Council.
- Honour those who decide to help Rossall School through the generous gift of a legacy by offering automatic Membership of the exclusive '1844 Society'.
'The 1844 Society' brings together numerous major benefactors and generous legators, whose bequests help to secure the education of successive generations of Rossallians. The School and The Foundation host an annual event for Members, usually on the campus, to acknowledge a debt of gratitude and to report to Members on the School's progress and future plans.
- Respect your anonymity if you so request. The Foundation always undertakes to be guided by the wishes of its supporters, and discreetly respects the decision of all donors who may prefer the details of their gift to remain a private matter.
- Make it easy for you to keep in touch with each other and to connect with us.
The recently established Foundation Office is the fulcrum of our communications effort. There is a daily task to update database details, research Rossallians who may have lost contact, develop relationships between the School, pupils, parents, Old Rossallians and the wider constituency of friends of the School, and to facilitate the exchange of information amongst the whole community.
- Organise events in the UK and worldwide, to bring together people of different generations but similar background experiences to share news and views, promote their interest in Rossall and share its vision of the future.
